Here are the revised Special Areas section for the Dixie and Fishlake NFs. We anticipate many more changes leading up to our draft Revised Forest Plans in January 06.

We still need to do some work on the boundaries for special areas. We hope you can help us think through this question over the next several months.

We’d love your feedback on these documents. We have done some significant work on our definition of backcountry. Please let us know what you think….

Bring a lunch and plan to spend the bulk of the day touring the area and discussing the proposed backcountry designation and the Fishlake OHV route designation decisions for this area.

Please RSVP to me at (435) 865-3730 so that we can plan for numbers and warn people if we need to change plans because of inclement weather.

We’d love your thoughts about this area and some of the other nice areas adjacent to the proposed backcountry. Your thoughts?

Enjoy the pictures….

Backcountry Definition?

Filed under: Special Areas — Kenton Call on September 13, 2005 @ 11:10 am

In some of our field trips we have heard and interest in seeing a clearer definition of what we mean by backcountry.
