Both Forest Supervisors plan to be in attendance. We also hope to have many of our District Rangers. Aside from these folks and Forest Planning Team personnel, who else would you like to hear from at the Summit?

Are there specific individuals in the academic, research, non-profit, or government community that you would like to see invited? What topics would they address?

In the past, we have utilized facilitation to foster better communication. Do you think that this facilitation will be necessary for the Summit? If so, do you have any suggestions of potential facilitators? We have not decided on facilitation yet, we’d welcome your thoughts.

At various times in our collaboration we have utilized small groups and large groups. Do your prefer a format that has a mix of small and large group discussions (e.g. plenary discussions and smaller breakout discussions) or exclusively large group or small group settings? We would like all sessions, large and small, to be conducted with a variety of different interests in attendance. Your thoughts?

The Forest Service hopes to use the Forest Plan Summit:

- to better understand the various points of view of our collaborative partners in the public,
- to provide a venue for the various participants to hear “other points of view”,
- to inform a better forest planning decision through discussions on the Proposed Plans (which will be released in some form preceding the Summit) and the science used to develop the Proposed Plan, and
- to reinforce relationship that were built during the Forest Planning process.

We have scheduled the Haze Hunter Conference Center at Southern Utah University in Cedar City on June 28 and 29 for our Forest Plan Summit.

Will this location work for you?

We don’t anticipate changing this unless there are substantial unforeseen problems. We will need to hear that very soon to make any changes.

On another note, we have not picked beginning and ending times, would a 9 am start and 4 pm finish be acceptable? Any other suggestions?
