Forest Plan Summit - Outcomes - Your Thoughts?

Filed under: Collaboration, Forest Plan Revision Forum — Kenton Call on March 22, 2006 @ 7:31 pm

The Forest Service hopes to use the Forest Plan Summit:

- to better understand the various points of view of our collaborative partners in the public,
- to provide a venue for the various participants to hear “other points of view”,
- to inform a better forest planning decision through discussions on the Proposed Plans (which will be released in some form preceding the Summit) and the science used to develop the Proposed Plan, and
- to reinforce relationship that were built during the Forest Planning process.

There are some groups that would like to share very detailed information about their perspectives. We anticipate providing some opportunity for this interaction, we will need to discuss how this more detailed interaction takes place. Your thoughts?

  1. It would seem that an additional goal would be to improve the knowledge base from which comments are made.

As well, a goal could be to increase the options considered by people commenting onthe Forest Plan draft.
