Forest Plan Summit - Speakers and Presenters

Filed under: General, Collaboration, Forest Plan Revision Forum — Kenton Call on March 22, 2006 @ 7:38 pm

Both Forest Supervisors plan to be in attendance. We also hope to have many of our District Rangers. Aside from these folks and Forest Planning Team personnel, who else would you like to hear from at the Summit?

Are there specific individuals in the academic, research, non-profit, or government community that you would like to see invited? What topics would they address?

  1. Second time: The first comment submission may not have come through.

I would suggest that the Three Forests Coalition make a brief presentation regardint
the Sustainable Multiple Use Alternative, which the Coalition has developed throughout 2004 and 2005 for the Dixie and Fishlake NF plan revisions. I would be glad to make such a presentation; others in the Coalition would likewise be able to make such a presentation. I or another Coalition member would focus on highlights of the Sustainable Multiple Use Alternative that differ from the Forests’ proposal.

  2. I think you should invite former Forest Service Chief Jack Ward Thomas to keynote the summit. Jack believes passionately in the value of the national forest system and the Forest Service and would give a speech that would be both colorful and inspirational.
