CER release

Filed under: General, Announcements/Upcoming Events, Collaboration, Forest Plan Revision Forum — Andi Falsetto on May 31, 2006 @ 6:22 pm

Expected release of the draft Comprehensive Evaluation Report (CER) has been postponed to an estimated date of June 26. Both the draft CER Summary and the longer draft specialist reports should be available at that time. Initially we had hoped to have the draft CER available with the release of the Proposed Plan Working Document in early June, but we do intend to have the draft CER available by the Forest Plan Forum (June 28-29).

As part of the Forum, Frank Fay will lead a break-out session on the afternoon of the 28th to discuss the CER. He will be available for questions and discussion as well.

Our National Policy Discussion at the Forum will be Conducted by Tony Erba

Filed under: General, Announcements/Upcoming Events, Collaboration, Forest Plan Revision Forum — Kenton Call on May 30, 2006 @ 10:58 am

On the morning of the first day of the Forum we will have a 45 minute presentation/discussion on the many changes in national policy that have taken place in the last couple years for forest planning. Tony Erba, who is currently part of our Washington Office planning shop, but formerly was the Dixie NF Forest Planner, will be on hand to make the presentations and field questions. Tony will also be available during the breakouts on the afternoon of the first day for a more in-depth discussion of your questions. He is planning on attending both days of the Forum and we hope you will grab him and engage him in the questions you have regarding national policy.

In order to give Tony a flavor for the types of questions you have about recent changes in national policy (e.g. new planning rule and EMS), please share some of your questions here on the blog. This will help Tony prepare his presentations and give us a feel for the level of depth you are interested in on these issues. Thanks.

Forest Plan Forum Revised Agenda

Filed under: General, Seeking Comments on These Draft Documents, Collaboration, Forest Plan Revision Forum — Kenton Call on May 9, 2006 @ 7:01 pm

I have revised the agenda for the Forum.

1. We have made some changes to the afternoon of the first day. I will need to nail down the details of that day and topics for discussion in the breakouts with the planning group. We would love your thoughts here about that day.

2. We have identified six topics for panels on the second day. We are still fleshing out what would be involved in those topics and who would be the panelists. If you have thoughts, please let us know.

3. We are looking for two skilled, neutral, and local facilitators that can help us on day two. Any thoughts?

Here is the revised agenda:
