We know that many of you were unable to attend the Forest Plan Forum. Those who did attend had a great time discussing a variety of topics related to forest management. It was a very informative event. We hope that we can continue the discussions that the Forum stimulated in this online forum. I am creating a blog area for each panel.

We hope you will continue the open discussion from the “Community and the Forest” Panel here. Topics that were on the table for the panel included social and economic linkages, “natural heritage”, culture, change, rural development, range, recreation/tourism, timber and minerals, etc..

The fully-linked Proposed Land Management Plan-working document is now online at http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/dixie/projects/lmp/ The structure of this website will likely be changing soon, but the URL is valid now to access the documents. Once the URL does change, we’ll post forwarding information. You will also be able to view the Comprehensive Evaluation Report on this site as well.

THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL CHANGES TO THIS WORKING DOCUMENT BEFORE WE START THE 90-DAY COMMENT PERIOD ON THE PLAN.

We hope that all participants will review the Proposed Land Management Plan prior to participation in the Plan Forum. (We understand, however, that many won’t have the time to do so prior to the event.) You can refer the the Table of Contents for the topics that you are most interested in.

We asked panelists to provide additional information that they would like people to consider in preparation for the Plan Implementation Panel.
